Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Backend Software Developer with strong expertise in C# and SQL. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend systems. This role will contribute to the design and development of scalable applications and services that support both internal and client-facing platforms. Candidates may work on-site at our Farmington Hills, MI office or remotely from within the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using C# and SQL
- Write clean, scalable code for database-driven systems and RESTful APIs
- Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for performance and reliability
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software
- Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning
- Ensure software meets performance, security, and compliance standards
- Document code and technical specifications for future maintenance
- Troubleshoot and debug backend issues across environments
- Stay current with backend development trends, tools, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend software development
- Strong proficiency in C#/.NET and relational database design using SQL Server
- Experience with API development, including REST and JSON-based services
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively
- Must be able to work on-site in Farmington Hills, MI or remotely from a U.S.-based location
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and data protection
- Exposure to frontend frameworks or full-stack development is a plus
- Background working with enterprise or SaaS platforms
